The tobacco barn has four sections. The roof was replaced in 1996.

Cemetery & Corncrib

The jury deliberated in the corn crib when the courthouse was in the house.  Lewis County was formed in this house. John Porter Blackburn was very influencial in local politics.  He and his wife Nancy, had their family here and then moved to Texas in the late 1840's. Captain Ambrose Blackburn is buried on the property along with his wife, Francis and a few of John and Nancy's children. Also a cousin, who died in childbirth and her infant.

Unfortunately we are having to sell our dream. My husband passed away and I cannot maintain the property alone.  Besides being a lovely place to reside , we were open to the public for years and successful with our endeavor.  Many Blackburn relatives came to visit. We sponsored two weddings.  Two Lewis County Music & Craft Festivals, also. We had many day tours and educated many people about the beginning of Lewis County, Tennessee.

The asking price is $249,000.
